The author:
Karl Waber (born 1921) served the Adventist churches in La Chaux- de-Fonds, St.Imier and Tramelan as a preacher from 1965 to 1969, i.e. in the area where the "cradle" of the Adventist movement in Europe stood. The study of the history of this free church fascinated him. During his extensive tenure of administrative duties in Zurich, which included six years as the head and thirteen years as the accountant of the Swiss-German Conference, and concurrently, nine years as the accountant of the Swiss Union of Seventh-day Adventists, he was afforded the opportunity to conduct research on the organization's "roots" and gather a diverse array of documents and photographs.
This book, which he was only able to complete after his retirement, provides fascinating insights into the experiences of the pioneers, in whom God's providence was again evidently manifested.
